Hollywood star Keanu Reeves has disclosed that he once considered changing his stage name early in his career.

Speaking on the New Heights podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce, the Matrix actor revealed that he almost went by the name “Chuck Spadina.”

“I remember I was walking on the beach, and I was just like, ‘My name? What if I change my name? What?’” Reeves recalled.

He explained that he tried coming up with alternatives, but none of the names felt authentic or fitting.

“My middle name is Charles, so I was like, ‘…Chuck? And I grew up on a street called Spadina, (therefore) Chuck Spadina,’” he said.

Reeves admitted that while the idea sounded fun at first, he eventually realized it didn’t suit him.

“And then I couldn’t do it. So then I would be in auditions, and they would go, ‘KC Reeves.’ And I wouldn’t even answer. Six months later, I was like, ‘I’m not doing this.’ That’s a Hollywood moment,” he added.

The actor ultimately decided to keep his real name, which later became one of the most recognizable in Hollywood.
