“I’m not a Nigerian artist, after all i dont make money from Nigeria”-Burnaboy blows hot
Nigerian Grammy winner, Burnaboy has stated that he is not a Nigerian. This is coming after an argument by some fans and trolls on twitter.
Reacting to this argument, a fan jokingly said the Grammy winner will leave Twitter NG for everyone. And this was Burnaboy’s response,
“Me wey no even be Nigerian artist. 🤣😂”
A fan who felt the singer was just joking responded,
“But you dey promote African culture and you Dey deny your own motherland, all na showbiz as usual lmao”
But to his dismay, Burnaboy shocked him by saying he gains nothing from Nigeria.
He said,
“I’m from here and I live here because I love my home and my people, E no pass like that. I don’t make money from Nigeria. Na only cruise dey here”
And while he was attacked for lying about his country, Burnaboy revealed that he wasn’t paid a dime. In his words,
“Lol. I didn’t get a dime. Only the artists who honoured me by performing at my homecoming were paid. Get your facts right”
