Netizens have reacted after one of Nollywood’s biggest filmmaker, Ruth Kadiri was not recognized by AMVCA Last night.
Ruth Kadiri produces and uploads one movie every week on her youtube channel, with millions of views across Africa and beyond. However, the actress has recieved few awards and none at the AMVCA.
Some netizens are of the opinion that Ruth Kadiri produces low budget movies, while others think AMVCA is not interested in youtube movies at the moment.

AMVCA rewards excellence not nediocrity. This people need to understand that acting and movie production is not a walk in the park, it is serious business. She has chosen the youtube path, to make money from views, whether it makes sense or not, just sha act and put it there. She is rich and thats what she wants.
Ruth youtube movie is just one level above Asabawood and that is fact.
The African Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) was held last night, 11th May, 2024. Actress Kehinde Bankole won the best actress for the AMVCA 2024.
Actress Genevova Umeh and Demola Adedoyin won best supporting actors, while Actor Wale Ojo won best actor in a lead role.
