Star Actress, Taraji P Henson In Tears Over Low Earnings From Acting (DETAIL)

American actress, Taraji P Henson has cried out over low earnings from acting.

Taraji touched on her career during an emotional interview with Gayle King on SiriusXM Radio, when the host questioned previous comments she had made about turning her attention to something out of the spotlight.

“I’m just tired of working so hard, being gracious at what I do, getting paid a fraction of the cost,’ she said, beside Danielle and director Blitz Bazawule. ‘I’m tired of hearing my sisters saying the same thing over and over. You get tired. I hear people go, “You work a lot.” I have to the math ain’t mathing.

‘And when you start working a lot, you have a team. Big bills come with what we do. We don’t do this alone. The fact that we’re up here, there’s a whole entire team behind us. They have to get paid.

‘When you hear people saying, “Oh, such and such made $10million.” That didn’t make it to their account. Know that off the top, Uncle Sam is getting 50%. Do the math.

‘Now we have $5million your team is getting 30% off of what you gross, not after what Uncle Sam took. Now do the math.’

Taraji also took aim at the way she is treated by Hollywood bosses who have told her that Black stories ‘don’t translate overseas’ despite ‘breaking glass ceilings’ with projects in the past.

‘I’m only human and it seems every time I do something, and I break another glass ceiling, when it’s time to renegotiate, I’m at the bottom again like I never did what I just did. And I’m just tired,’ she continued through tears, before becoming more emotional. ‘It wears on you, because what does that mean? What is that telling me?

‘And if I can’t fight for them coming up behind me then what the f**k am I doing?
