“It About A Real Situation…. It Was Sincere And Genuine….” – Ashanti Speaks About Her New Single “Falling For You”

American singer, Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas has revealed in an exclusive interview with ‘The Shaderoom’ that her new single ‘Falling For You’ is about a real situation and Carries messages from her past relationships.

Ashanti has released “Falling For You” via Written Entertainment. Ashanti co-wrote the song with Yung Bleu who also provides the modern, R&B beat, with a 2022 twist.

Speaking about her new hit, the R&B princess said: “It’s definitely about a real situation. It’s crazy…the timing of it–it was a lot going on. It’s true that art can sometimes imitate life, and art sometimes imitates life. It was authentic, sincere, and genuine.”

Ashanti also dished on her complicated relationship status and thoughts around giving exes another chance.

“As far as giving someone another chance, no one is perfect…I’m not perfect. It depends on the source of your mistake and what it is. Is it a mistake or a deliberate act? Was it to hurt someone?  I have to genuinely believe that you made an honest mistake and your intent wasn’t to hurt me.”

She also shared the most bizarre text she received from an ex after seeing an IG emoji.

“Oh, gosh! Ummm…what’s that little emoji? Mad eggplant emojis…That is one of the craziest things that an ex has texted me after seeing an IG pic.”

As far as what’s next for Ashanti, the jet setter stated that her first self-titled album is currently in process of being re-recorded and we can expect it in 2023.
