Popular Nigerian skit maker and activist, Mr Macaroni, has called out the Nigerian Police following the tragic death of a student in Ibadan who was killed by a stray bullet.

The heart-wrenching incident, which occurred during a reported clash between police officers and some hoodlums, left many residents of the area in shock. Eyewitnesses said the student was not part of the unrest but was simply going about her day when a stray bullet hit her.

Reacting on social media, Mr Macaroni expressed his anger and sadness, writing on X (formerly Twitter):

“Wicked, Evil, Callous, irresponsible and seamlessly Corrupt @PoliceNG just killed an innocent boy in broad daylight!!!! MURDERERS!!!!

Another X user, @adefemiwrites, commented: “Every day, it’s another life gone because of police carelessness. Will there ever be justice?”

User @IfeomaTruth said: “She was just a student! Her only crime was being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Nigeria has failed its youth.”

@TheIbadanVoice added: “We are tired of hashtags. We need real reform. Who is protecting us from the protectors?”

Mr Macaroni, who is known for lending his voice to social justice issues, called on the government and police authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure that the officers involved face the consequences of their actions.

As of the time of this report, the Oyo State Police Command has yet to release an official statement addressing the incident.

The tragic event has once again ignited conversations around police brutality, the use of excessive force, and the safety of innocent citizens during security operations.
