Popular Nigerian rapper and activist, Falz, has set social media ablaze with a bold statement criticizing the current administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In a recent interview with Arise TV, Falz didn’t hold back, saying, “It goes without saying, that more than anything we’ve moved backward.”

His remark followed a pointed jab at Tinubu’s now-famous campaign mantra “Emilokan” — a Yoruba phrase meaning “It’s my turn.” Falz questioned the president’s preparedness and results so far: “We are still waiting. What exactly was the plan? First half, we haven’t seen anything.”

The statement has divided public opinion. While many hail Falz for voicing the frustration of everyday Nigerians, critics accuse him of undermining the presidency. Still, Falz remains unshaken, reminding the nation of its right to demand progress.

Known for using his music and platform to challenge injustice, this isn’t the first time Falz has taken a swipe at Nigeria’s leadership. But with this daring critique, he reignited urgent conversations about failed promises, youth disillusionment, and the reality of life under the ‘Emilokan’ era.
