The verdict in the highly publicized criminal trial of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been announced. While the hip-hop icon was found not guilty of the sex trafficking charges involving singer Cassie Ventura and another woman identified as Jane, the jury delivered a guilty verdict on prostitution-related charges for both women.
The five federal counts brought against Diddy in the USA v. Sean Combs case included:
Count 1: Racketeering Conspiracy
Count 2: Sex Trafficking of Cassie Ventura
Count 3: Transportation of Cassie Ventura and Sex Workers to Engage in Prostitution
Count 4: Sex Trafficking of Jane
Count 5: Transportation of Jane and Sex Workers to Engage in Prostitution
Diddy was cleared of the racketeering conspiracy and both sex trafficking counts, but found guilty on the third and fifth counts relating to the transportation of Cassie, Jane, and sex workers for prostitution.
Following the verdict, Cassie Ventura’s attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, issued a public statement praising his client for her bravery in coming forward.
“By sharing her experience, Cassie has left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry and the ongoing fight for justice,” Wigdor said in a statement to Variety. “We must be clear — we believe and stand firmly with our client, who displayed extraordinary courage throughout this difficult process.”
He added, “She displayed unquestionable strength and brought attention to the realities of powerful men in our orbit and the misconduct that has persisted for decades without repercussion.”
The trial has sparked widespread conversations about abuse, power dynamics, and accountability within the entertainment industry.
