“Don’t Use Your Platform to Campaign for Politicians for 2027 Election” – VDM Warns Influencers (VIDEO)

Nigerian social commentator and activist, Martins Vincent Otse popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM) has issued a strong message to influencers ahead of the 2027 general elections. In a recent video, VDM urged Nigerian celebrities and content creators not to use their platforms to campaign for politicians.

According to him, the decision of who to vote for should be left to the masses and not influenced by celebrities who may be benefiting behind the scenes. His comments follow the recent visits of music star Davido and nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chiefpriest to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima moves that sparked a wave of mixed reactions on social media.

Some Nigerians agreed with VDM, saying that influencers hold too much sway over the minds of young voters and should remain neutral. Others, however, believe that influencers have the right to publicly support any candidate of their choice, just like every other citizen.

The discussion has now raised fresh concerns about the power of influence in Nigerian politics and whether celebrities should be more careful about the political messages they share.
