US Vice President, Kamala Harris has reacted to country’s latest mass shooting at an elementary school in Texas.

It was gathered that at least 19 children and two teachers were killed on Tuesday when a gunman opened fire at the school.

According to reports, the suspected shooter was also killed when law enforcement confronted him at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, about 83 miles west of San Antonio.

Speaking about the sad incident, Gov. Greg Abbott said at a news conference;

“It is believed that he abandoned his vehicle, then entered into the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde with a handgun, and he may have also had a rifle.

“He shot and killed, horrifically and incomprehensibly, 14 students and killed a teacher.

However, the Texas Department of Public Safety says that 19 children and two teachers were killed by the shooter before he was gunned down.

The department also revealed that the shooter identified by Texas officials as Salvador Ramos, of Uvalde — also shot his grandmother before crashing a vehicle near the school. She is in a critical condition.

The survivors of the attack are being treated at regional hospitals.

Reacting to this, US Vice President Kamala Harris said that “enough is enough”.

She wrote via Twitter;

“Tonight in Uvalde, Texas, there are parents who lost children. Families who have lost loved ones. And many who have been injured.

As a nation, we must have the courage to take action and prevent this from ever happening again.”
