Peter Obi Emerges Labour Party Presidential Candidate As Utomi Steps Down
Peter Obi the former governor of Anambra State has emerged as the presidential candidate of the Labour Party ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
According to him, his emergence as the party’s flagbearer follows his victory at the presidential primary of the Labour Party which took place on Monday in Asaba, Delta State capital.
It was gathered that a total of 185 delegates were accredited to vote in the exercise to elect one of four aspirants seeking to clinch the party’s presidential ticket.
However, all three co-contenders; Professor Pat Utomi, Olubusola Emmanuel-Tella, and Faduri Joseph stepped down for Peter Obi.
This comes days after the presidential aspirant announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as well as his withdrawal from the primary election of the main opposition party.
