12 Nollywood Divorcees Yet To Marry Again
The issue of divorce is a rampant one in the Nigerian entertainment industry, it has now gotten to the extent where being in a marriage for a very long time is worth celebrating. Nollywood actors are not left out of this trend, but one may wonder what causes these divorces. Well, let’s look at 12 Nollywood actresses who are presently divorcees and the cause of their divorce.
1. Uche Elendu
The Nollywood star was married to Prince Walter Ogochukwu Igweanyinbo in 2012 but they both went separate ways in 2018 after he left her to marry beauty Queen, Sandra.
Rumours have it that Uche was busy sleeping around with both men and women and that one of her babies is for Etekebe, her ex husband’s friend. The sister to Prince, Jessica Igwe also blamed Uche for the divorce. Their marriage produced one child though Uche is now a mother of two. The marriage was second marriage of Prince Walter as he left his first wife to marry Uche.
2. Uche Ogbodo
The mother of two married Apo Arthur on October 2013 and this marriage lasted for ten months.
She was pregnant with his child when the marriage crashed. According to the actress, the marriage was full of lies and they both caused their separation. Well, the actress has found love in the arms of a young man named, Bobby Maris whom she recently delivered a child for. Her first marriage produced a girl, however, she is not yet married to Bobby currently.
3. Mercy Aigbe
Mercy got married to Lanre Gentry in 2013 after her first marriage crashed due to interference by her Mother In Law. Her marriage with Gentry crashed in 2018, she claims he misbehaved and never contributed to the welfare of their children, Mitchell and Juwon. Gentry has refused to sign the divorce papers but married a new wife in September, 2021.
4. Shan George
The actress has been in various marriages. She left her first marriage due to immaturity on her part because she got married at an early age.
She married Tony Nwosisi ten years later but he left her and then she moved on to Momoh Osigwe whom she met in 2002 at England. They got married years later in London. Shan got to know her ex hubby was cheating on her and that ended their marriage. In March 2020, she announced her engagement to Jaiyeola at the age of 50 but it seems it has crashed because no one talks about it anymore. The actress had said she does not know why men usually leave her.
5. Clarion Chukuwrah
Clarion’s first marriage with Tunde Abiola ended in 2003 after she walked out of the marriage. In 2014, she married Femi Oduneye but the marriage was for two years. In 2016, Clarion married US based Anthony Boyd and this time, became a Jehovah witness since he was one. The marriage crashed too. Clarion has a son whom she bore with Shina Peters, whom she once had an affair with. That son is none other than the popular music video director, Clarence Peters.
6. Chika Ike
A year after she entered the Nollywood industry, she married Tony Eberiri in 2006 but their divorce came in 2013. She claims she experienced domestic abuse which made her have a miscarriage. Chika has been linked to a politician from Delta and also to Ned Nwoko which she denied. She is not yet married for now.
7. Tonto Dikeh
There is no lover of Nigerian Entertainment industry who doesn’t know about her love interests. But we wouldn’t conclude that she is unlucky in relationships as she might find the right one who wouldn’t leave her sooner than we imagine. Her first marriage to Olakunle Churchill produced a boy, King Andrea.
8. Eucharia Anunobi
In 2000, Eucharia got married to Charles Egwu who dumped her after the marriage had produced a son. They separated in 2006 but were officially divorced in 2009. Their son died in 2017 due to sickle cell anaemia. Concerning the reason for their break up, Eucharia revealed he was a wife beater and she footed all the bills. She also added that she caught him pants down with their 13years old housemaid.
9. Oge Okoye
The model and United Nations Ambassador got married to a Holland based man Stanley Duru in 2005. They met at a location set at Amsterdam. She married him in 2012 and the marriage crashed in 2019 after producing two children.
It was reported that Nkiru Sylvanus who was a close friend to actress Oge got married to him in 2014 but the marriage crashed in 2019. It was also rumoured that Stanley was first Nkiru’s lover before dumping her for Oge. In another rumour, Oge cheated on him and he decided to retaliate. In 2020, Oge and Uche Elendu were called out by actress Doris Ogala for sleeping with married men.
10. Ini Edo
Was married to Philip Ehiagwina in 2008. He was previously married to a model, Ruth Okoro. In 2014, she walked out of the marriage after accusing him of cheating and being violent.
He demanded she wrote his name in the house she bought in Lekki but she refused and this made him leave her for Ghana where he began staying with a lady. Ini Edo just had a baby through surrogacy and her baby daddy is Kome.
11. Stella Damasus
Her first hubby was Jaiye Aboderin who she married in 1999 at 22years. He died of an heart attack in 2003 and the marriage was blessed with two girls. In 2007, she married Emeka Nzeribe and she was the breadwinner of the family. The marriage ended seven months later as he accused her of infidelity while she in turn accused him of verbal abuse. In 2011, Stella wedded Daniel Ademinokan a Nollywood producer. The marriage was kept a secret because he was already married to Doris Simeon. She was tagged a husband snatcher and then moved to US. However it seems they’ve broken up.
12. Kate Henshaw
She was married to a British, Roderick James Nuttal for twelve years before the marriage crashed in 2011. She caught him pants down with a sales girl, Angela Gordon and then he gave her an option to condone his relationship with Angela or quit the marriage and she chose the latter.
Though there are still some Nollywood divorcees who got divorced recently. We all hope they get married again.
