Popular Nigerian gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo clocked 31 today.

Sharing beautiful photos, the singer wrote:

Mercy Chinwo is a Nigerian gospel musician, singer and songwriter. She won the Nigerian Idol Season 2 in 2012.

Mercy Nnenda Chinwo was born on 6 September 1990 in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. She is the fourth child in a family of five (first daughter). Chinwo got involved in music at age 8, being a member of the children’s choir in her church and transitioning to the adult choir prior to launching her musical career.

Mercy Chinwo released her first single, “Testimony”, in 2015, and “Igwe” a year later. In 2017, Mercy Chinwo signed to Gospel Music Label EeZee Conceptz.

Mercy lost her father at a young age, and had to fend for herself and other siblings. As a result, she took her music ministry serious from the beginning. The death of her father did not deter her from pursuing her passion in the music career and she began singing in her local church from a young age. It is believed that she started singing in the children’s choir of her local church before she moved to the adult section of the church still passionate about music.
