Terry Bollea, the iconic World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar known globally as Hulk Hogan, has died at the age of 71.

WWE confirmed his passing in a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, marking the end of an era for one of the company’s most recognisable and influential figures.

The wrestling legend was pronounced dead at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida, after emergency services were called to his residence.

According to local authorities, Hogan was experiencing a medical emergency shortly before 10 a.m.

“The nature of the call was for a cardiac arrest,” officials said.

Hogan was a towering presence in professional wrestling, especially during the 1980s and early 1990s. Known for his distinctive look—blonde handlebar moustache, trademark bandana, yellow ring gear, and rippling muscles—he became a global symbol of wrestling entertainment.

During his career, he captured six WWE Championships and was the headline act in eight of the first nine WrestleMania events, playing a central role in elevating WWE’s international status.

Beyond the ring, Hogan faced controversies, notably a 2015 scandal involving racist comments that led to his WWE contract being terminated. However, he was reinstated into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018 and returned to public appearances under the company’s banner.

Despite the setbacks, Hulk Hogan’s impact on professional wrestling remains unmatched. His charisma, persona, and larger-than-life presence helped define an era and inspired generations of wrestlers and fans alike.
