Cristiano Ronaldo has been sacked by Manchester United after having his £500,000-a-week contract ripped up, The Sun reports.

Recall that the Portugal forward blasted the club in his explosive interview with Piers Morgan and now the Red Devils have decided to terminate his contract with immediate effect on a mutual agreement.

The news was announced at 5.30pm as United released a blunt statement for the club icon. The club said:

“Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.
