She discloses that her parents separated when she was around 8 or 9 years old, leading to a broken home.
Beverly shares how the decision to live with her mother was made, despite her initial desire to stay with her father.

Beverly also touches upon her rebellious teenage years, which prompted family members to suggest a convent school for her secondary education.

However, her spirited nature eventually led to her expulsion from the school, even though she maintained that she was simply enjoying her teenage years and actively participating in various school activities.
