Things You Never Knew About Ini Dima Okojie

Ini Dima Okojie Ruth Abioye popularly known as Ini Dima Okojie is a Nollywood actress born on the 24th of June, 1990 in Esan North East Local Government Area.

The Edo State indigene was born into a family of 6 and she happens to be the last out of four children her parents gave birth to(three females and a male). Ini Dima was born with a silver spoon as her dad is a retired Air Commodore in the Nigerian Army and also a military trained Doctor while her mum is lawyer who went into the banking sector and is now a retired banker.

The actress attended the popular Airforce Primary School in Lagos State and Air Force Comprehensive Secondary School in Ibadan. After her Secondary education, she moved over to Covenant University where she studied International Relations.

Career

After reading International Relations, Ini Dima developed a soft spot for acting and so, she left her job in an investment banking firm called Cardinal Supreme Partners and enrolled into the New York Film Academy. Speaking about it in an interview, she said,

“A defining moment for me as a person was finding the courage to quit investing banking in 2013 and enrolling at New York Film Academy. That set the tone for my journey and everything that I am today”.

In 2014, she came back to Nigeria where she started her acting career as a Production Assistant in the movie ‘Before 30’. Her first movie appearance was in ‘Taste of Love’ where she played the role of Feyisayo Pepple. In 2016, she played the character of Hadiza in the web series ‘Skinny Girl in Transit’.What brought her to fame was when she acted the lead role in ‘North East’, a 2016 movie.

Talking about her role model, she revealed that her parents have been of great support to her. She also said that her favourite actors are Richard More Damijo and Majid Michael.

While disclosing this in an interview, she said,

“I am inspired by RMD’s consistency in the business. He is someone who has remained relevant in the industry for over three decades; that is something that sets him apart”.

The fashion enthusiast gave her fans a good news after she did her first introduction with her fan who later turned into her sweetheart. On the 6th of November, 202, her introduction ceremony was done. Her hubby, Abasi Ene-Obong is a UK based medical doctor and entrepreneur.

He is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of 54gene, One Genomics Research Services Company. He is a Masters Holder and has bagged a PHD in Cancer Biology from the University of London.

You will recall that on the 17th of July, 2017, Ini Dima had announced her engagement to her lover through her Instagram account. According to her, he was a fan.

“About two years ago, on one random day I was ranting on my Insta stories about not being able to find fresh crispy maltesers in Lagos (they are one of my fave chocolates)

Next thing, I get an email from an Abasi titled ‘Maltesers from London’ 😅 saying he saw my rant on Instagram and he was in London at the time and would love to send some maltesers to my manager or representative’s address.”
