“I Went to Pitch Myself, I Became Content” — Applicant Accuses Peller of Misleading Interview

Nigerian content creator Nkese Itam has accused popular TikTok streamer Peller of misleading job seekers under the guise of recruitment.
Nkese, who applied for a ₦500,000 cameraman role Peller advertised online, claimed in a viral post that she was invited for what appeared to be a genuine interview but was instead used for content.

“I went for Peller’s job opening with the intention to work, pitch myself, and grow. But instead, I was used for content. No actual job. No follow-up. Just part of another episode,” she wrote on X.
She added that while she’s a content creator herself, using job seekers for scripted content without transparency is unfair.

Peller had earlier sparked reactions for offering a ₦500k monthly salary while requesting a Master’s degree for the cameraman role. While he later clarified the job was real and focused on livestream production, Nkese’s experience has stirred fresh criticism over influencer-led recruitment tactics.
