“I’m Not a Victim, I’m in Love” — R. Kelly’s Fiancée Joycelyn Savage Breaks Silence Amid Family Drama

Joycelyn Savage, the longtime fiancée of embattled singer R. Kelly, has spoken out in a new video statement, firmly rejecting allegations from her family that she is being held against her will.

In the emotional clip released over the weekend, Savage, who has been linked to the singer for nearly a decade, declared, “I’m not a victim, I’m in love… I’ve been with Robert for ten years, engaged for three, and we speak every weekend.”

Her comments come after her parents, Timothy and Jonjelyn Savage, reignited public concern over her wellbeing. The couple claim they haven’t had direct, unscripted contact with their daughter since 2019 and insist she remains under R. Kelly’s influence, despite his incarceration.

The Savages even suggested the new video could have been generated using artificial intelligence, pointing to what they described as “glitches” in her appearance and speech patterns.

However, Joycelyn insists otherwise. In her statement, she dismissed the claims, expressing her desire to marry the singer and start a family once he is released.

R. Kelly, 57, is currently serving a 30-year prison sentence after being convicted of racketeering, sex trafficking, and child pornography charges. Despite his legal woes, Savage has remained loyal, previously revealing in 2022 that she considers herself his fiancée.

While Kelly’s legal team continues to push for his early release on health grounds, his fiancée’s public show of support is reigniting fierce debate about her autonomy and the complicated legacy of the R&B star.

The Savage family, meanwhile, remains unconvinced. They have called for a private, unscripted conversation with their daughter to confirm her safety and wellbeing.

For now, Joycelyn Savage is standing her ground, declaring to the world: “I’m not brainwashed. I’m not being held hostage. I love Robert, and that’s my choice.”
