Popular Ghanaian actor Van Vicker has reacted to a disturbing incident that recently happened on a movie set involving Nollywood actors Zubby Michael and Godwin Nnadiekwe. Reports claim that Zubby kicked Godwin in the chest during a scene, leading to internal injuries.
Van Vicker took to Instagram to share his thoughts. He said the news was deeply troubling and should not be taken lightly, although he hasn’t confirmed if the report is 100% true.
He pointed out how important it is to properly rehearse scenes that involve physical actions like fights or stunts. Van Vicker explained that in Nigeria’s film industry, many productions don’t have insurance, stunt doubles, or safety equipment making it even more important to be careful.
Some directors believe rehearsing fight scenes might reduce the actors’ natural reactions, but Van Vicker disagrees. He believes safety should always come first.
He urged movie producers, the media, and fans to take the matter seriously and demand better safety rules on set. He ended by saying that protecting actors is just as important as good acting, sound, or camera work.
