Some months ago, Caramel Plug had an interview with Punch. Excerpt from the interview below:

How did your journey into comedy start?

If somebody had told me that I would be a comedian or I had the ability to actually make people laugh, I would have laughed it off because I never imagined that 2019 would turn out the way it did. My journey into comedy started when I realised that every time I put out content on Snapchat, people always ‘screen-munched’ my posts and sent me messages telling me how funny I was. I never knew that I had the ability to make other people laugh. People recorded my materials and put them on other platforms and I would see how much attention they got. That was when I knew I could actually make people laugh.

Your followers on Instagram increased quite fast. How were you able to achieve that?

I honestly do not have an explanation of how I got my followers and how people found me. It surprises me too. I remember that at the beginning of 2019 when I created my account, I did it just to entertain myself but people found me and kept following my account after my first video that got attention where I ranted about (the TV series) ‘Game of Thrones’ and how people would stay stuck in my DM. The videos went viral and people found my page. I didn’t know that it would attract that much attention. Also, people who reposted my videos and made comments about them aided my growth as well.

What can you recall of your childhood?

I had a great childhood. My parents were amazing and my siblings were awesome. We all know how to make one another smile and we are always there for one another. I am really grateful to God for giving me the opportunity to have experienced that childhood because everybody’s childhood shapes them to become who they are and maybe that is why I am really this ‘goofy’.

something that I just randomly thought about. Random things inspire my content; I just imagine.

You are usually very active in your videos. How do you build up this energy?

That is actually who I am. I am goofy and hyped. I feel I may have got it from my mother and grandfather because they had a lot of energy too. I just feel happy and I want to spread it. I feel I cannot contain the happiness alone.

Does your personality in your videos portray who you truly are?

My personality on screen is just a little bit different from who I am in real life. I have few friends and they tell me that I am actually that way in real life, if not worse. But people do not know that. I am naturally happy and I’m always smiling, even when I am sad. I grew up spreading positivity.
