Nigerian clergyman, Reverend Father Kelvin Ugwu, has shared his perspective on the ongoing marital saga between actress Regina Daniels and billionaire businessman Ned Nwoko, offering a detailed critique of their union.

In a lengthy Facebook post, Father Ugwu suggested that the marriage is rooted more in material and personal desires than in traditional marital commitment. He described Ned as “obsessed with virginity” and Regina as “obsessed with wealth.”

He noted, referencing a past interview, that Ned had stated he cannot marry someone who is not a virgin, while Regina had indicated in a video that she would “rather cry in a Lamborghini,” highlighting her preference for financial security.

“Luckily, or should we say, providentially… Ned met Gina, Gina met Ned. Ned has wealth, which is what Gina wants. Gina has virginity – what Ned wants. The requirements on both sides were met. Their hotspots and Bluetooth were compatible for pairing,” he wrote.

Father Ugwu went on to describe how the pair seemingly got what they wanted from the union. “Ned looked fulfilled and proud to show us offspring that emanated from his ‘virginic’ exploration. Gina was happy at last and was proud to flaunt the dollars, Ferrari, and G-Wagon that emanated from her ‘Ancestral’ exploration.”

However, he argued that despite these gains, the couple’s relationship suffers from a fundamental misdefinition. “Ned and Gina used the term ‘Marriage’ to define what they shared. But, if we are to be critical, bearing in mind what marriage ought to be, it is an abuse of the word. Marriage would have sued Ned and Gina for abuse,” he wrote.

Father Ugwu emphasized that true marriage goes beyond material or personal exchanges. “Marriage goes beyond seeking to have virgins. It goes beyond seeking to have a Lamborghini. Marriage is the willingness to give yourself unreservedly, and for life, to the other person. Not for better, for the best, or richer for wealth, or for a virgin for a virginus,” he explained.

He concluded with a cautionary note, contrasting contractual arrangements with genuine marital unions. “Some of you mistake a contract/partnership for a marital union, and that, my friend, is the problem,” he added, signing off simply as “PurestPurity.”
