A Magistrate Court in Ikorodu, Lagos State, has directed that DNA tests be conducted on Liam Aloba, the two-year-old son of the late Nigerian musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

The ruling came on Tuesday from Magistrate Adefisoye Sonuga, who was hearing an application filed by Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba. Mohbad’s widow, Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, was named as the respondent in the case.

During the proceedings, Joseph Aloba’s lawyer, Augustine Adegbemi, presented the motion, while Omowunmi’s counsel, Kabir Akingbolu, raised no objections.

Magistrate Sonuga subsequently ordered that two DNA tests be carried out—one in Nigeria and the other abroad. Both tests are to be conducted at accredited hospitals, with representatives of both parties present during the collection of samples.

The matter has been adjourned to November 11 for further proceedings.
