Jay-Z Denies Fathering New Jersey Man, Labels Case ‘Legal Abuse’

Hip-hop billionaire Jay-Z is once again pushing back against long-standing paternity allegations, describing a new federal lawsuit filed by a New Jersey man as baseless and an act of harassment.

The rapper, whose real name is Shawn Carter, is also facing a separate controversy involving Nicki Minaj over an alleged $200 million dispute linked to the Tidal streaming platform.

In newly filed court documents obtained by Us Weekly, Jay-Z’s legal team responded to a lawsuit submitted on May 6 by 32-year-old Rymir Satterthwaite. Satterthwaite claims he is the rapper’s son, allegedly born from a brief affair between Jay-Z and his late mother, Wanda, in the early 1990s.

Jay-Z’s lawyers insist the issue has already been addressed and dismissed in several courts over the years, stressing that the attempt to revive the matter amounts to “legal abuse.” They also noted that Carter only became aware of the most recent lawsuit on June 3 and has since requested additional time to file an official response.

“This is a decades-old claim that has been consistently rejected,” the legal filing states, emphasizing that courts have previously ruled against Satterthwaite’s attempts to pursue the case.

Despite lacking legal representation, Satterthwaite is pressing forward with the suit, which includes allegations of emotional distress, suppression of evidence, and claims that his previous attempts to obtain child support and educational assistance were wrongfully dismissed.

While he maintains that his motive is not financial gain, Satterthwaite is seeking damages for what he describes as deliberate efforts to silence him. In past interviews, he alleged that he’s faced intimidation, including a disturbing incident where his car was riddled with six bullet holes — which he suggested was a warning to stop speaking out.

Meanwhile, Jay-Z is also dealing with criticism from fellow rapper Nicki Minaj, reportedly tied to a massive financial dispute regarding the Tidal music streaming service. Though details remain unclear, sources suggest that Minaj is frustrated over an unresolved business agreement involving the platform, which Jay-Z helped acquire and promote.

A representative for Jay-Z has dismissed the renewed paternity lawsuit as “completely meritless,” adding that all related claims have already been addressed and rejected in prior court proceedings.

“This is just another attempt to harass Mr. Carter with unfounded accusations,” the rep stated.

As the legal drama unfolds, Jay-Z continues to maintain his innocence, asserting that the persistent claims have no legal standing and are rooted in years of misinformation.
