Legendary Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has issued a heartfelt apology to his wife, Natasha, their children, and fans following backlash over a statement he made during a podcast appearance.
The music icon recently sparked criticism after appearing on Nedu’s podcast, where he claimed that men are not naturally designed to be sexually involved with only one woman. According to him, a man can truly love a woman yet still struggle with sexual exclusivity.
In his words, “A man isn’t built to be sexually active with one woman… He can love her, but sexually, it’s impossible to be with just one.”
After facing heavy backlash online, 2Baba has now made a public U-turn, acknowledging the gravity of his remarks. In a fresh post, he admitted his statement was out of line and expressed deep remorse for the hurt it may have caused.
“I know I fvcked up with what I said and I know I’m going to get cancelled cos of it,” he said. “I apologise to my fans and most importantly, my wife, the love of my life, Natasha and also my kids. I’m terribly sorry. That’s not who I am.”
The singer’s apology has drawn mixed reactions online, with many commending him for taking responsibility, while others continued to express disappointment over his initial comments.
