Former Big Brother Naija housemates, Anita and Topher, have responded to backlash from fans who questioned the couple gifts they received while dating during the show.

Taking to Snapchat, Anita clarified that their relationship was rooted in genuine feelings but has since come to an end.

“There was real curiosity around our relationship. And that curiosity was valid. We did give it a chance but as with many things in life, some things work and some things don’t,” she explained, adding that if more of their story had been made public, “there would have been more clarity on this.”

Anita firmly dismissed claims suggesting she faked the relationship for material benefits, stating, “There was no deception, no manipulation, and certainly no performance for benefits. Anyone who knows me or has followed my journey understands that I move with intention and honesty, even when it’s uncomfortable.”

She emphasized that her values remain intact, saying, “My name, my work ethic, and my values are non-negotiable, and I protect them fiercely.”

To fans who felt disappointed, she offered a heartfelt response: “Your feelings are valid and matter to me. But I will always choose transparency over performance, and I will never play with the love or loyalty of the people who hold me up.”
