U.S. President Donald Trump Warns Elon Musk of ‘Serious Consequences’ if He Funds Democrats 

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stern warning to tech mogul Elon Musk, stating there will be “serious consequences” if Musk funds Democratic candidates to challenge Republicans who supported the GOP’s recent sweeping budget bill. In a phone interview with NBC News, Trump emphasized, “If he does, he’ll have to pay the consequences for that,” though he declined to specify what those repercussions might entail. He further added, “He’ll have to pay very serious consequences if he does that.”

The president also expressed no interest in mending his relationship with Musk following a public feud that erupted earlier this week. When asked if he wished to reconcile, Trump firmly responded, “No.” He suggested that his relationship with the Tesla and SpaceX CEO may have ended, stating, “I would assume so, yeah.” Despite the rift, Trump claimed the Republican Party is more united than ever following their public falling out.

Trump also addressed Musk’s recent criticisms, noting he has no plans to speak with him anytime soon. “I’m too busy doing other things,” he said, adding, “I have no intention of speaking to him.” He accused Musk of being disrespectful to the office of the President, calling it “a very bad thing” and asserting, “You could not disrespect the office of the President.”

The tension escalated after Musk posted a series of critical messages on X, including a now-deleted post highlighting past links between Trump and the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Trump dismissed this as “old news” during a Saturday statement, saying, “That’s been talked about for years. Even Epstein’s lawyer said I had nothing to do with it. It’s old news.”

The feud traces back to Musk’s criticism of a GOP-led spending bill passed by the House last month. In response, Trump expressed disappointment from the Oval Office on Thursday, telling reporters, “I’m very disappointed because Elon knew the inner workings of this bill. I’m very disappointed in Elon. I’ve helped Elon a lot.”
