In a dramatic twist this weekend, Vanessa Okoye, Priscilla’s protective step-sister, took to Instagram with a fiery message defending the latest bride in the family. Vanessa declared, “I will never take it if you attack my family. There is a special grace that follows Priscilla and if you don’t understand the grace, you will just be speaking rubbish for the rest of your lives.” 

Her appeal was more than a family defense. “You people should leave Priscilla alone. You all should go and marry, fall in love, and be valuable to some people’s lives then you will see the blessing she has gotten.”

The roots of Vanessa’s warning lie in the growing backlash targeting Priscilla’s recent wedding, a ceremony now at the center of social media storm. She demands an end to the negativity from bloggers: “What is the problem you have with Priscilla? If her wedding is disturbing you, you can go and have yours too.”

This episode reflects the recent public showdown between Nollywood icon Iyabo Ojo and Tanzanian blogger Mange Kimambi. Kimambi had criticized Priscilla’s new marriage content as an unwelcome distraction amid Tanzania’s hot electoral season, sparking a fierce defense from Iyabo, who warned the blogger to “keep my daughter out of your affairs”. 

Their combined defense strikes at critics with a resounding truth: your life isn’t theirs to critique, and blessings aren’t your invite to negativity.
