Popular Nigerian Senator, Shehu Sani has reacted to the recent video of French President, Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte.
The viral video captured how the French first lady shoved her husband in the face as they were about to step down from the Presidential aircraft in northern Vietnamese city on Sunday, May 25.
Macron appeared unimpressed but quickly regained his composure and waves to the press outside.
In an interview with reporters in Hanoi on Monday, Macron addressed the clip, dismissing any speculation that his wife physically assaults him.
“There’s a video showing me joking and teasing my wife and somehow that becomes a sort of geo-planetary catastrophe, with people even coming up with theories to explain it,” The President said
Writing on his X handle, Shehu Sani argued that the actions of the first lady in the video is now being tagged as playful but that if it were the other way round, Human rights groups around the world would have risen in anger and gone on protests against gender violence.
