Small Doctor Cries Out Over Drug Abuse Crisis Among Lagos Youths

Published

Nigerian singer Small Doctor is sounding the alarm—and this time, it’s personal. On May 20, 2025, the “Penalty” crooner took to social media with a heartfelt message after a visit to his old neighborhood in Lagos. What he saw wasn’t just shocking—it was heartbreaking. Young men he once grew up with, full of potential, now wandered the streets, lost in a haze of drugs. Some were even seen “sleeping while standing,” trapped in a nightmarish loop of addiction.

He didn’t stop there. Small Doctor called for the return of a social media influencer known for his anti-drug advocacy, saying, “We need him now more than ever.”

He also revealed a haunting prophecy from Fuji icon Wasiu Ayinde, who advised him six years ago to set up a rehab center, calling it “the new oil.” Now, those words feel prophetic.

But not everyone is applauding. Some netizens are pointing fingers back at celebrities, blaming their lifestyle and lyrics for glorifying the very habits they condemn.

Still, one thing is clear: Lagos is hurting. And Small Doctor’s cry might just be the wake-up call the streets—and the stars—desperately need.
