Alexa To Mimic Any Voice, Including Dead Relatives, Amazon Announces

Amazon an American multinational technology company which focuses on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence is working to develop a robotic system that give Alexa the aptitude to imitate any voice subsequent listening to the audio in less than a minute including the voice of the deceased.

The software which is still in development, was pronounced at Amazon’s Re:Mars conference in Las Vegas on Wednesday with a video demonstration. A child was portrayed in the video who questioned, “Alexa, can grandma finish reading me the wizard of Oz?” Alexa confirmed the request with its default, robotic voice, then switched immediately to a softer, more humanlike tone, appearing to imitating the child’s family member.

Senior Vice president and Head scientist for the Alexa team, Rohit Prasad, explained that Amazon’s aim for Alexa is “generalizable intelligence ” or the ability to adapt to user environments and learn new concepts with little external input.
