Nigerian skit maker and internet personality Adesokan Emmanuel, widely recognized as Shank Comics, recently opened up with a surprising and personal story about his father’s conversion to Christianity.
In a widely circulated interview with a fellow content creator in Canada, Shank recounted how his father converted from Islam to Christianity — all because of food.
“I’m a Christian, but I still go by my Muslim name, Saheed,” he shared. “My dad was once a Muslim, but he was really hungry one day, and a church gave him food. That moment changed everything. That was how he became a Christian.”
With a hint of humor, he added, “My dad’s cheap. We were just hungry.”
The video quickly gained traction online, prompting a flurry of reactions. While many viewers found the story amusing, others were surprised by how such a simple gesture could inspire a major life change.
Shank Comics, known for blending comedy with real-life topics, gave fans a more intimate glimpse into his background with this candid moment. Though told playfully, the story tells how small acts of kindness can leave lasting impressions.
