“It’s the narcissistic effrontery for me. Small Boy. Talk anyhow in public. Tueh”- Actor Gideon Okeke tackles his colleague Jim Iyke over his controversial birthday post to Kate Henshaw
Former Gulder Ultimate Search winner and Nollywood actor, Gideon Okeke, has publicly called out fellow actor Jim Iyke over a controversial birthday message he posted to their colleague, Kate Henshaw.
Jim Iyke had taken to social media to send an unusual message to Kate Henshaw, reflecting on their past interactions. In the message, he criticized her for treating him like a younger brother when, according to him, his intentions were far from innocent.
He wrote that she “knew he wanted to hit that” and that she was aware he had “an imagination far from friendly” and “wanted to experiment with his seed.” Jim Iyke further stated that she allowed him to reach “the Apex of his wildness and restlessness,” but then stopped looking out for him, took him too literally, and eventually married a white man.
The message stirred reactions, with many questioning the appropriateness of such a post. Among the critics was Gideon Okeke, who took to his Instagram to slam Jim Iyke’s statement, describing it as narcissistic and inappropriate.
Reacting to the post, Gideon wrote:
“Somebody take a look at this Motherfukka over here.
It’s the narcīssistic effrontery for me. Such a bonehead. I wonder who puts these people in check.”
He went on to criticize the culture of enabling toxic behavior in the industry:
“It’s this kinda rubbish behaviour that people condone,
that gives other people the balls to be the actual pricks they are… in real life.”
Gideon ended his post by referring to Jim Iyke as a “small boy,” calling out his conduct in public:
“Small Boy.
Talk anyhow in public. Tueh.”
Gideon’s response has added fuel to the ongoing conversation around accountability and professionalism in Nollywood, especially among veteran actors.
