“How come our preachers never told us a man could marry more than one wife” – Nigerian Lady Questions After Reading an Old Testament Verse (VIDEO)
A Nigerian lady by name, Ijeoma Sandy, has come out in a recent video online to reveal a Bible verse in the Old Testament that permits a man to marry more than one wife provided he meets certain conditions.
Ijeoma read out Exodus 21:10-11 which says;
10. “If he marries another woman, he must not deprive the first one of her food, clothing and marital rights.
11. If he does not provide her with these three things, she is to go free, without any payment of money.”
Mrs Sandy, explained this as saying that if a man is to marry a second wife, he must not deprive his first wife of food, clothing and marital rights.
But if the man denies the first wife of any the above three obligations then the first wife can leave for free without any payment.
