From $17/hour to Financial Freedom: The Remarkable Journey of an Americo-Liberian Trader, Dell Davies, Empowering Others Through the Markets.

When the world came to a standstill during the global COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, many lives were disrupted — and for one young African immigrant in the U.S, it marked the beginning of a life-changing transformation.

After losing his job at Amazon where he earned $17 an hour, the Americo-Liberian trader — whose identity now commands respect across online trading communities — made a bold decision: rather than wait for another paycheck, he would learn how to build wealth from the financial markets.

“I realized I couldn’t keep depending on a system that wasn’t built for me to win,” he said.

With no handouts, no connections, and no mentors, Dell Davies began teaching himself how to trade Forex and stocks. Armed with only a laptop and an unbreakable mindset, he spent sleepless nights absorbing knowledge from Babypips, YouTube, trading books, and online webinars. Like many self-taught traders, he experienced his fair share of setbacks — including multiple blown accounts — but he refused to give up.

That persistence paid off.

Today, he is not only a full-time trader but also a coach and mentor who has helped hundreds of aspiring traders across the world learn how to profit from the markets — particularly in Gold, Tesla, and SPY.

“I don’t just teach charts,” he explains. “I teach confidence, discipline, risk management, and how to think like a trader. My program is built for people who are tired of living paycheck to paycheck and are ready to take charge of their financial futures.”

As an African immigrant, he understands the challenges of starting from the bottom in a foreign land — limited access, no financial safety net, and often, no support system. But his story is proof that it’s possible to rise, regardless of where you start.

“You don’t need a finance degree or to come from money. You just need the right mindset, the right tools, and someone who genuinely wants to see you win,” he adds.

For him, trading is not just about profit — it’s about freedom, legacy, and rewriting the narrative for immigrants, minorities, and dreamers everywhere.

His message to those still stuck in the struggle?

“If you’re serious about putting in the work and learning the skill, I’m here to help guide the way. Let’s change the narrative. One trade at a time.”
