37-Year-Old Anambra Woman Who Was Sēt Ablåze By Her Husband In January Has Been Buried

Chioma Blessing Nwaka, a 37-year-old woman who was brutally murdered by her husband was laid to rest in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Chioma was inflamed by her husband, Obiozor Nwaka over allegations of infidelity on January 21, 2025 at Eziezekwe village.

The mother of five passed away the following day at a hospital as a result of the burns she sustained during the incident.

Chioma’s death in the horrific act of domestic violence has drawn widespread condemnation, with the general public, family members, human rights activists and civil society groups calling for justice.

Her body arrived at her father’s compound in Irefi Oraifite, Ekwusigo LGA for a brief stopover before being conveyed to Abagana for final burial on Friday, June 27.

Family, friends and sympathizers gathered in mournful silence to pay their final respects to a woman described as a hardworking, kind-hearted, devoted wife and mother.
