Nollywood actress Opeyemi Aiyeola has cleared up recent confusion surrounding actor Ibrahim Chatta’s reported loss of a child, sharing details on her verified Instagram page.

Over the weekend, several outlets reported that Chatta had lost his son, citing an emotional post he made on Instagram: “Inna liLlahi wa inna ileyhi rajiun. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on, Dear Son. Champ.”

Aiyeola clarified on Sunday that the child was not Chatta’s biological son, but rather his godson, who he cherished as his own. “Ibrahim Chatta didn’t lose his biological son but a godson he regarded as a son. May his soul rest in peace… It has been a deeply emotional time. God have mercy,” she wrote.

She also called for empathy and support for the family during this difficult period, praying for strength and comfort for those grieving the loss.
