Chelsea and Liverpool progresses to the fourth round of the Emirates Fa Cup

The third round of the Emirates Fa Cup was nothing short of exciting for the top Epl teams as Chelsea, Liverpool and Man city qualify to the next round while, Tottenham and Manchester United will have to settle for a replay.

Chelsea made nine changes to their team which started against Brighton in their last Epl fixture, with 19yr old Callum Hudson-Odoi scoring one and making an assist in Chelsea’s 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.

The championship side did put in a fight but Chelsea never seemed worried with the experience of Jorginho and Kovacic in the holding midfield, while Barkley who hasn’t featured since October got the second goal as he got on a rebound from Hudson Odoi’s shot which was parried right at him.

Chelsea dressed in a stunning retro kit with no names to celebrate their 50th anniversary of third first FA Cup triumph.

In Merseyside, Klopp also made nine changes to the Liverpool team that defeated Sheffield United on Thursday with three debutants in Nathaniel Phillips, Minamino and Yasser Larouci.

Liverpool ‘s New signing, Minamino had a good debut, but 18-year-old Jones was the star of the match as he curled in a sensational strike into the top corner of the net with less than 30mins to play. The draws of the fourth round will be made tomorrow by 20:35pm just before the game between Arsenal vs Leeds.

Tottenham Hotspurs despite playing a strong side couldn’t get the better of Middlesbrough as they could only settle for a 1-1 draw and will have to take the tie to the White Hart lane to know their faith.

Earlier results on Saturday saw Manchester city winning 4-1 against Port Vale, Manchester United holding out for a goalless draw against Wolves, and Watford blowing a 3-0 lead against Tranmere which ended up in a 3-3 draw.
