Responding with a lengthy clap-back, Kcee fired back, accusing Flavour of trying to “gatekeep Igbo culture” and adding, “You’re not a Custodian. I’ve been in this game before you…My music celebrates our heritage, and I won’t apologize.”

His post continued, “In an ocean of things that matter, you’re like a needle…Spend your energy on success, not diminishing mine.”

Kcee, known for his hit songs with a strong Igbo influence, made it clear that he sees Flavour’s comment as a direct challenge to his hard-earned success. “I’ve come too far for anyone to downplay my sweat and hard work…HELL NO!” he wrote.

As fans take sides, some are praising Flavour for highlighting “copycat” culture, while others are supporting Kcee’s stance on celebrating Igbo culture openly. One thing is certain: both stars are unapologetically passionate about their heritage, and neither seems ready to back down.
