Comedian Dave Chapelle Show Canceled By Minneapolis Concert Avenue After Backlash

Dave Chappelle, 48, who had scheduled to perform at the First Avenue concert venue on Wednesday night, but the venue announced that the show was cancelled at the 11th hour before his sold-out performance.

The funnyman has been receiving criticism over his transphobic jokes.

The show was announced on Monday, and Dave’s tickets sold out pretty quick, in just 5 minutes on Tuesday.

Even though, the star venue drew lot of criticism from customers for hosting the controversial comedian after the show announcement.

Less than three hours before the show was scheduled to begin, First Avenue apologized, announced the show’s cancellation via instagram and said it’s moving to Varsity Theater. “To staff, artists, and our community, we hear you and we are sorry. We know we must hold ourselves to the highest standards, and we know we let you down,” the post reported.
