Adetola Abdulateef Adedimeji popularly known as Lateef Adedimeji is a Nollywood actor and Television personality born on the 1st of February, 1986 in Lagos State. Out of six children his Muslim parents gave birth to, Lateef is the fourth child.
During his basic education, Lateef attended Ire Akari Primary School, Isolo, Lagos State and then got enrolled into Ilamoye Grammar School, Okota, Lagos State. He also attended a performance studio workshop at Onikan, Lagos where he learnt how to act. In 2007, Lateef bagged a degree in Mass Communication from Olabisi Onabanjo University.

Acting Career of Lateef Adedimeji

Lateef’s dream was to become a lawyer but that dream was transformed after he got picked by a Non Governmental Organization.

He said in an interview,

“I always wanted to be a lawyer but I do a lot of silly things and people laugh. So it was when I joined the NGO I found out that acting is my line”.

The NGO called ‘Community Life Project (CLP)’ was aimed at sensitizing people about HIV/AIDS, they did this through dancing and playing of music, it was along the line Lateef fell in love with acting.
He was a script writer at OrisunTV program titled ‘Sababi’ and a talk show host for a program titled ‘Miliki Express’.

Lateef finally joined the Nollywood industry but had to join the likes of Eniola, Muyiwa Ademola, Bayo Tijani after he was told he needed to belong to a group in order to become popular. He finally became popular after acting “Kudi Klepto”, a 2013 movie produced by Yewande Adekoya and ever since then, he has featured in several movies.
In an interview, Lateef revealed the veteran actor, Antar Laniyan is his role model and he would love to work with Denzel Washington. Speaking about Denzel, he said,

I love his carriage and apart from his acting world when he talks as well there is something for you to actually pick. If he speaks for five minutes there must be something for you to actually gain and that makes a lot of sense. It means he is leaving a good land mark”.

Lateef Adedimeji’s Wife

Lateef had said he has a crush on actress Bimbo Oshin though there is nothing going on between them. He is set to marry actress Adebimpe Oyebade popularly known as Mo Bimpe on December 22, 2021. Initially, they both denied having a romantic relationship as Mo Bimpe stated that they were just close friends adding that she cannot get married to him even if he asks her out. The couple finally disclosed their romantic relationship to the public after a popular blogger revealed it.

 

 

 

 

The blogger known as Gistlover also claims Mo Bimpe is already pregnant for him, a rumour which she debunked. Debunking the rumour in an interview with Naija Society News, she said,

“Well, Mo Bimpe can be pregnant tomorrow but as we speak right now, I am not pregnant. I don’t know, you know a lot of people just feel that when you are preparing for a wedding, they believe that you are doing that simply because you are pregnant. That’s the kind of society we are.”

“They may think that why did he want to marry her if not pregnancy? You know how rumour mongers reason. In fact, that’s the comment I have been getting on my page. It is because she is pregnant that is why they came up with the wedding plans. For now, I am not pregnant”, she continued.

Adedimeji Lateef’s Rumour/Controversy

It was rumoured that the Yoruba actor already has a baby mama whom he ditched for Mo Bimpe. Gistlover claims the actress’ name is Oyinkansola Elebuibon.

He wrote,

…somebody is depressed, somebody is thinking su*cide, should we fire on…Oyin Na Omo baba Awo o…well, this is a very sacred gist they tried to bury, lai mo pe,oku ti lateef sin,else eh ti tu boode (dead body wey lateef bury,him one leg don come out o) Na lateef born Obadamisi wey all of una Dey call Qudus.

Oyin Elebuibon Na actress just getting it right then in the industry,she is also the daughter of a legend,Baba Yemi Elebuibon…keepe sir (long may you live) long story short she and lateef start one thing one thing,Naso lateef nack am belle o then cajolled her into coming to the U.S come born the pikin…”

The actress however debunked the rumour.

If I have a child for him, why would I hide it? Is he crippled or is he a married man that I will be ashamed to be with? Lateef did not even know that I was pregnant until I told him after I put to bed. It was my birthday and he called to wish me a happy birthday when I told him that I was in the hospital because I just delivered a baby and he was shocked”, she discredited.

Adedimeji Lateef currently has an estimated networth of $1million. He is the founder of “Great Minds Initiative”, a platform which helps aspiring actors showcase their talent. He plans on having a movie production company soon.
