FC Barcelona have been granted permission to sign a striker from the league or out of contract and without a club. This permission was given to Barcelona by the La Liga following the injury crisis in the attacking section of the team.

Ousmane Dembele and Luis Suarez are both injured and are expected to miss the rest of the season.

With this decision made by La Liga on Monday, Barcelona are expected to sign a player in the next 14 days or lose the chance of getting a replacement until summer.

The permission only lasts for 15 days after being granted. There’s a rule in the Spanish League that if a club can show proof that a player is injured for more than five months, the club will be allowed to sign a player in the next 15 days, and in this case Ousmane Dembele medical results show he’ll be out for more than five months.

Barcelona have shown proof of Demebele’s injury and granted the permission to sign a striker outside th transfer window and the Spanish giants have set their sight on Martin Braithwaite.

He currently plays for Leganes who are 19th on the Spanish League table, and Braithwaite currently has a £15m buy out clause.

Leganes Club President has confirmed that Barcelona are interested in their striker and Barcelona will have to pay off his buy out clause in Madrid in the next 14 days.
