Shrewsbury holds Liverpool to a 2-2 draw

League one side Shrewsbury held Liverpool to a 2-2 draw in the FA cup fourth round tie, with Cummings scoring twice.

 

Liverpool who had only drawn a game this season in the English Premier League were 2-0 up at the start of the second but the league one side didn’t give up their will to play and it paid off.

 

Cummings was introduced in the second half for Callum Lang and there were boos from a section of the crowd but his spirit was not cut short and he replied the fans with two goals to earn a remarkable comeback.

18-yr-old Curtis Jones got the first goal for Liverpool just after 15mins of Kick-off and Donald Love scored a bizzare own goal to double the lead for the visitors at the start of the second half. Cummings was brought on at 60mins and he scored from the spot 5mins later, then went on to score the equalizer with 15mins of the clock left to play.

 

Firmino and Salah was brought on to get the winner for Liverpool but the host had just enough time to keep them out from scoring. The draw was really deserved by Shrewsbury as they kept their spirit high even while trailing by two goals down.

 

 

There will be a replay to decide who goes through to the fifth round at Anfield in the coming weeks.
